Chair
Massage Class 12 Hours
The training process
consists mainly of hands-on work by the students. Rotating teams of two or three
(practitioner, recipient, observer) students per chair are guided through four phases of
instruction with demonstration and practice:
| Phase I: |
Short focused methods on specific regions of the body (neck, shoulder,
lumbar, etc....) |
| Phase II: |
Longer sessions combining the first techniques with transitional
movements. |
| Phase III: |
Practice to acquire efficiency and confidence in the methodology to
accomplish a thorough treatment within a fixed time frame (10 minutes and 20 minutes). |
| Phase IV: |
Additional techniques for specific problems frequently encountered (i.e.,
sciatica, computer malaise, lumbar disc inflammation, etc.) and unifying movements to
complete the treatment: complementary breathwork, visualization, etc. |
Discussions
are interspersed throughout each phase during breaks and include features and
characteristics of various chairs, opportunities and applications for this format,
experiences, as well as questions and answer periods. A relaxed and informal atmosphere
with beautiful views of the mountains provides the setting for these classes.
Whether you expect
to use this teaching simply to help family cope with tension/discomfort or desire
professional abilities...
Prior
Massage Training is Not Necessary.
Although many
massage therapists have benefited from acquiring these unique techniques and expanding
their work, this class offers an excellent beginning for the individual who wants to see
if bodywork might be for them. Without tremendous commitments of time or money, you can
learn skills which may be applied to a new career.

Work from
the heart:
Training
consists of demonstration/repetition of a wide assortment of Eastern & Western
methods. Hands-on intensive practice of flowing sequences engage the entire body to help
release stress, tension and discomfort.
Esoteric
Spirituality:
In addition
to the above physical plane instruction, principles will be offered applying to subtle
multidimensional aspects, however, the result obtained in these more esoteric realms will
be highly individual and subjective. Depending upon a person's path and progress, Spirit's
unfoldment of these elements will vary greatly.
